House Rules

  • Try to log in 15 minutes prior to start time
    • Allows time for audio and video checks
  • Set your equipment and try not to touch it while we are recording
    • This is a recorded show and you reaching into your camera or the sound of you fondling your mic may not be able to be edited out before publishing the content.
  • Mute your mic when  you are not speaking
    • Optional if you have control of the sounds in your surroundings
  • Don’t just randomly respond to the chat
    • The chat will get pretty live and we are all excited about the conversation but try to remember that the listeners after things have been recorded and released will not be able to see the chat. Try to remember to announce both the messenger and their message before responding
  • Have great stories if you plan on telling them
    • They should be planned and ready to go
    • They should be relevant to the discussion and flow well
  • Always give great advisement
    • If in one of your stories something doesn’t happen the way you know it should have be sure to point this out to the audience.
    • Part of why they are tuning in is for these learning opportunities.
  • Be sure to dumb down the deep technicals
    • Much of the audience is just starting out or trying to move over into the tech space so they may not understand some of the terms and acronyms
  • Try to not talk over or cut off the host
    • Some of these topics will really get you going but try to not cut off or talk over the host. At times this will be unavoidable but try to remain respectful of the host and the direction he takes the show.
  • Look into the camera and give some expression when appropriate
    • We want to give off good vibes at all times but don’t feel the need to force it if it isn’t there
  • HAVE A GREAT TIME!
